Monday - Saturday Shifts

This is a Driver trainee position, involving a structured 90- day training program, consisting of driving skills training, classroom, and behind-the-wheel practice. Must have a state-certified CDL A License and a Medical Certificate before entering the training program. At the conclusion of this training program, a successful candidate will d be ready to advance to a Delivery Driver position.

Main Ingredients of the Job

  • Must have a state-certified CDL A License with little or no experience driving under their CDL A.

  • Must have a current Medical Certificate.

  • Must be registered in FMCSA Clearinghouse .

  • 100 % attendance in all elements of the training program, actively participating in classroom exercises as well as hands-on instruction

  • Maintains satisfactory feedback from instructors and driver/coaches during the classroom, yard skills, and on-the-road driving portion of the training program

  • Assists designated US Foods drivers in route completion, learning all aspects of the job.

  • Achieves defined performance expectations during the initial 90- day probationary period of the program.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required

  • Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift) required

What You Bring to the Table

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Must have a valid CDL A License issued by the state of legal residence with the necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications.

  • Preferred experience: A minimum of one year operating heavy motor vehicle equipment AND/OR one year as a warehouse selector in a food service or comparable industry.

  • Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records. .

In New York, the expected compensation for this role is $27.70 per hour. This role is also eligible for overtime compensation.
