Job Description

AECOM is seeking a GIS Specialist to be based in Cleveland, Ohio.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Ability to work independently and with other GIS staff across multiple offices to support a wide range of projects.

• Processes and analyzes raster and vector geospatial data in support of clients and staff including engineers, and field technicians.

• Produces a variety of mapping products for presentations, reports, and other documents.

• Perform data conversion from multiple formats (CAD, PDF, TIFF, Excel) into GIS data.

• Develop maps and map products (map books, visual aids, slides) utilizing GIS data.

• Develop web maps (AGOL, ArcGIS Portal) and Esri field solutions (ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123) for project staff to collect and review project data.

• Using ESRI tools, perform data analysis from various sources, including public data sources, such as Digital Elevation Models, LiDAR, Contours

• Support data acquisition in the field using ESRI platform for field data collection (Collector, Survey123, Field Maps, etc.)

• Perform GIS data collection with field application on mobile devices paired to GPS if needed

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Computer Science, Geography, Social Science, Environmental Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

• Valid Driver’s License and must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.

• Due to the nature of work, US citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with ESRI’s ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcGIS Pro.

• Experience with ArcGIS Online (AGOL) or portal.

• Knowledge of GIS software and programming languages (such as Python or code languages), along with expertise in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation and analysis.

• Coursework or experience using Python and/or model builder to customize production tools.

• Strong technical ability, with excellent problem-solving skills

• Comfortable working outside and/or traveling occasionally to support field activities.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment.

• Ability to examine and interpret data critically, both within GIS and Excel.

• Design, deploy and manage geospatial data collection reporting applications using data collected in ArcGIS Fields, Collector, Survey123, Workforce, and Dashboards within AGOL (ArcGIS Online).

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $20.00/hour - $25.00/hour.
