Job Title: Director of Accounting

Job Description

As the Director of Accounting, you will be responsible for overseeing the monthly close process, which includes the preparation and review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and income statement reviews. You'll create and maintain monthly reports to compare and analyze actual results with budgets, forecasts, and previous results. Collaborating with various department leaders, you'll identify cost savings and maximize profitability. You will assist with the integration of acquisitions and implementation of ERP and Business Applications. You will also ensure the timely and complete preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, cash flow statements, and profit and loss statements, and coordinate the preparation of external monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. Additionally, you will assist external auditors with the annual audit and coordinate income tax returns and provision requests. You'll evaluate the effectiveness of Accounting systems and supporting databases, troubleshoot/fix system issues, and train and support team members in the use of financial systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain monthly reports to compare and analyze actual results with budgets, forecasts, and previous results.

  • Collaborate with various department leaders to identify cost savings and maximize profitability.

  • Work with department leaders to be a point of contact and resource to solve issues.

  • Assist with the integration of acquisitions.

  • Implement and streamline ERP and Business Applications.

  • Issues timely and complete financial statements, including balance sheets, cash flow statements, and profit and loss statements.

  • Coordinates the preparation of external monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

  • Assists the external auditors with the annual audit.

  • Assists with coordination of income tax returns and provision requests.

  • Evaluates the effectiveness of Accounting systems and supporting databases and troubleshoots/fixes system issues.

  • Training and Supporting team members in the use of financial systems.

Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree required or have undergrad and have CPA or equivalent experience.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must have excellent computer and technical skills, especially Excel, and proficiency using various software systems.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong personal image and poise.

  • Strength in dealing with peer groups and senior executives.

Job Type

This is a permanent position. This is a fully on-site position in Clearwater, Florida. This is a 100% in-office position. Remote work is not an option at this time.
