About Housing Services Housing Service plays a vital role in the UC's explosive growth and success. Residence hall occupancy has risen to 8000 beds in the last 10 years, an increase of 75% in that time. Job Overview The Neighborhood Operations Manager (NOM) provides daily management of a comprehensive Residence Hall Service Center program including daily supervision of a team responsible for occupancy management, facilities management, keys, mail and general inquiries. The NOM develops and maintains policies and procedures related to management of keys, opening/closing center operations and residence halls and training Desk Assistants. The NOM reports directly to the Associate Director of Housing Operations. Essential Functions Develop policies and procedures for key audits and supervise day to day activity of staff pertaining to secure management of residence hall keys. Liaison with housekeeping and facilities management teams to ensure high level of service and care for each residence hall. Provide oversight of work order processes and coordination of regular area meetings to discuss building needs. Develop and maintain opening and closing procedures for residence hall service center operations, including documentation of all processing in an Opening/Closing manual. Develop and facilitate procedures for hiring and training Desk Assistants. Serve as Payroll approver. Navigate and execute student needs within the housing information system, e.g. room assignments and room changes. Collaborate with Resident Education & Development and Conference and Event Services to provide support for summer conferences in designated residence halls. This may include day-to-day supervision of conference assistants and conference guests/local constituents. Develop departmental initiatives including training, committee work, development sessions and/or candidate interviews. Will be required to be on-call and/or have weekend responsibilities during heavy volume time periods (move in/move out) or to support response to emergency situations. May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e. hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.). Perform related duties based on departmental need. The job description can be changed at any time. Required Education Bachelor's Degree Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement. Required Experience Three (3) years of experience in housing administration/management on a college campus or similar environment. At least one (1) year of supervisory experience.
