Jewish Federation of Southern NJ Registered Nurse in Cherry Hill, New Jersey

Primary Responsibility:

Provide the overall direction and supervision of the medical aspects of the Residential Program.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the maintenance of the residents’ clinical records and ensures compliance with the state’s DDD and Department of Human Services’ (DHS) licensing regulations and federal laws and regulations.

  • Provide oversight of Registered Dietitian Nutritionist

  • Conduct and oversee the proper education and training of staff hired, as well as annual staff education and evaluation of personnel performance which includes promoting ongoing professional development.

  • Conduct monthly and quarterly audits on resident medical and medication files.

  • Work closely with Residential Managers to update and correct errors found in the individuals medical and medication files.

  • Assist management with coaching and refresher training sessions when needed.

  • Maintain an open line of communication with clients, physicians, pharmacy, and therapists.

  • Transitional Care-medication management, oversight of doctor appointments and managing the care of residents with Residential Manager.

  • Assist with scheduling medical appointments and medical procedures as needed.

  • Attend medical appointments as needed.

  • Collaborate with individuals full care team to carry out treatment plans by working closely with identified primary care physicians and specialists for residents.

  • Participates in IDT meetings and Annual ISP meetings for all residents.

  • Complete incident reports as needed and quarterly Performance and Quality Improvement.

  • Schedule regular one-on-one meetings with Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and complete annual performance review.

  • Participate in Jfed leadership meetings and meetings pertaining to Weinberg Commons as requested.

  • Follows the Jewish Federation policies and procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Jersey.

  • BSN with 2 years of professional experience in community health; or RN with 3 years professional experience in community health.

  • Have at least one year experience working in a DHS funded residential setting under 10:44A Community Standards preferred.

  • Must have a Driver’s license valid in the state of New Jersey.

  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills

  • Strong management and leadership skills

  • Submit to a criminal background check and be determined to be not disqualified by the Department of Human Services prior to hire.

  • Agree to have their name checked against the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities

  • Shall submit to drug testing and receive a clear drug screen prior to employment per Stephen Komninos Law.

  • Shall submit to drug testing conducted randomly and for cause.

  • Shall complete an application to have their name checked against the Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI).

  • Must be vaccinated for Covid -19 or meet criteria under both DHS/CDC guidelines.

  • Must cooperate with the licensee and Department of Human Services staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of inclusion, compassion and can problem solve with individuals with disabilities and their families.
