Trinity Health Registered Nurse RN – Infusion Clinic Chelsea in Chelsea, Michigan

Contingent position, scheduled hours based upon department needs on the Day Shift with our Infusion Clinic at our Chelsea hospital campus.

This registered nurse works collaboratively with IHA Hematology Oncology Associates in 10-chair infusion center at St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea. Primary responsibilities include outpatient care follow-up and administration of chemotherapy, in addition to a variety of other types of Infusion services.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs nursing assessments of the patient's physical, psychosocial and cognitive status considering age and development level.

  • Formulates and documents individualized plans of care developed with the patient, family and health care team members.

  • Demonstrates excellent IV skills and the ability to manage/maintain Venous Access Devices, such as pic lines and ports.

  • Implements patient care in a manner consistent with the age of the patient, the plan of care and the changing needs of the patient.

  • Documents patient care according to Hospital and Department standards.

  • Evaluates patient care needs, determines priorities and directs nursing care as required for the delivery of quality patient care.

  • Supervises the care provided by unlicensed assistive personnel under the direction of the Registered Nurse.

  • Experience working as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Able to problem solve and manage crisis, able to adapt quickly to a rapidly changing patient care environment.

  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.

  • Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.

  • Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / LICENSURE

  • Requires current Michigan Nursing License

  • Graduation from accredited nursing program

  • Experience administering chemotherapy and experience using EPIC preferred

  • New hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five years
