Cedar Fair Director, Organizational Effectiveness in CHARLOTTE, North Carolina

Overview:

Reporting directly into the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Director, Organization Effectiveness will partner with the business on organization designs, structure, M&A integration, and provide change management consultation on large scale Enterprise business initiatives. As part of the HR leadership team, this highly visible position will embody Cedar Fair's values, be a change champion, and promote our culture of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. This role directs the design, planning and implementation of key organization development initiatives such as performance management, learning and associate professional development.

Additionally, the Director, Organization Effectiveness will build and manage a talent management strategy aligned with the strategic direction of the business to develop leaders and build the talent pipeline from front line leaders to senior executives. This role is responsible for creating and implementing comprehensive leadership development strategies that foster the growth and effectiveness of our leaders. This is a strategic leadership role that requires a deep understanding of leadership development principles, exceptional program design skills, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals. This role will play a vital part in preparing board materials, conducting leadership needs analysis, coaching executives on various leadership assessments, and facilitating workshops.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Initiatives - Support change initiatives partnering with CHRO to move the organization effectively through transformation such as growth and process improvement. Assist in identifying organization development activities to support the strategic intent of the business. Proactively propose solutions on matters relating to organization assessment, structure, and operating effectiveness.

  • Change Management - Transforming culture through deliberate and meaningful organization change management efforts. Helping others pioneer innovative approaches, streamline processes, and simplify work to its most meaningful parts.

  • Project Management - Demonstrate strong cross functional project management experience across an entire project life cycle. Management of assigned projects and administering project plans. Identifying project goals, scheduling, communication strategies, potential risks, and mitigating plans.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field.

  • 8 years of progressive experience in management with an understanding of business operations, reporting and analysis.

  • At least 5 years’ experience developing and facilitating training with small and large size groups.

  • Minimum of 8 years work experience in a leadership role overseeing the development and implementation of programs and projects of significant organizational impact.

  • Strong data analytics skills

  • Verbal and written communication skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms.

  • Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment in decision-making.

  • Ability to lead with a consultative approach, provide guidance and advice when needed.

  • Capability to “roll up sleeves” and personally deliver results.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills (oral and written).

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office tools.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and growth organization.

Ideal, but not required:

  • Master’s degree in business, Human Resources Organization Development, or related field.

  • Statistical analysis, SPSS, and other tools.

  • Experience with LMS tools and Ceridian Dayforce helpful.

  • Advance coaching skills and extensive experience implementing talent and multi-rater assessments.

  • Certifications in Hogan Personality Lead Series, Birkman, Leadership Circle 360, etc.

  • Strong financial, analytical, and budgeting acumen.

  • Previous experience in data analytics and producing various reports.

  • Strong presentation skills.
