Please review the following job description:

Provide leadership and expertise around credit process and procedures for the Wholesale Credit Delivery team. Serve as a liaison between and engage with portfolio management, loan operations, compliance, audit, and technology to help identify new and recurring risks related to process. Help facilitate effective communication and training to the PM organization related to credit process and ecosystem changes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  1. Provides ongoing support of the Credit Delivery credit origination and underwriting process by supporting areas such as process and procedures, including but not limited to procedure ownership, loan closing activities, file organization and tickler management. Creator and owner of the Commercial Community Bank Distributed Lending Playbook Procedure.

  2. Subject Matter Expertise around all Truist Wholesale Credit Delivery policies and procedures and ensures that credit package standards are adhered to.

  3. Serve as a Liaison between and engage with Portfolio Management, Loan Operations, Compliance, Audit and Technology. Identifies new and recurring risks related to process and adherence to regulatory, audit or policy requirements and in some cases is responsible for resolving those issues.

  4. Contribute to and manage special projects as needed including but not limited to audit/credit review remediations. Provides support to Portfolio Management teams on risk reviews, internal and external audits.

  5. Develop and deliver communication to the PM organization related to credit process and ecosystem changes.

  6. Lead implementation strategy for new processes and procedures for distributed PM organization. Ensure proper PM involvement with process development and enablement. Effectively partner with Wholesale Credit Delivery Project Management and Enablement teams to ensure effective execution on projects transitioned to BAU state. Actively identify and elevate system enhancement and process improvement ideas.

  7. Develop training to ensure teammates are prepared to adapt to credit process and ecosystem changes.

  8. In some cases, role could involve active engagement in loan closing process.

Required Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  1. Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 10+ years of experience in underwriting, portfolio administration, commercial loan credit decision making and previous management experience.

  2. Subject Matter Expert level understanding of accounting and finance, financial statement and cash flow analysis. Mastery level proficiency with MS Office Desktop applications. Strong interpersonal skills and solid written/verbal communication are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 10+ years of experience in underwriting, portfolio administration, and commercial loan credit decision-making. Management/Leadership experience in Commercial Banking portfolio management.

  2. Mastery of Truist Bank operating systems inclusive of the loan system and other Commercial applications (i.e. spreading and risk rating system, salesforce.com, nCino).
