Insight Global CEI Inspector in Charlotte, North Carolina

Job Description

Insight Global is currently seeking a CEI Inspector to join our client in Charlotte. In this role, you will be supporting municipality projects, including greenways and roads. The ideal candidate should possess the following certifications or experience (or be able to obtain them within the first three months):

NCDOT/ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade 1 certification.

Knowledge of NCDOT (QMS Roadway, Conventional Density).

Additionally, we are looking for candidates who can demonstrate hands-on experience with CMS asphalt work, going beyond mere ticketing of projects. The types of tests involved will include balloon testing, soils testing, nuclear gauge testing, coring, and test strips.

This position offers significant overtime opportunities and requires candidates to have flexible schedules.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Perform field observations and conduct materials sampling/testing during the construction of greenways, bridges, and roadways.

Conduct testing on construction materials, including soils, concrete, and asphalt.

Write daily field reports documenting work performed by various contractors, indicating compliance/non-compliance with contract documents.

Cast field samples of concrete, masonry, grout, etc., for strength verification.

Provide daily phone updates to Project Managers regarding the projects progress.

Collect construction material samples and deliver them to the laboratory.

Implement the Clients Project Management Plan, KLFs Quality Management Plan, contract documents, and the local jurisdictions requirements.

Contribute to building a high-performing team by mentoring and supporting the Owners team within the scope of work.

Support the Owners quality team by consulting the projects team, leading effective cross-functional communication.

Skills and Requirements

Minimum of 1 years experience in the construction industry as a technician.

 Radiation Safety training for operating a nuclear density gauge with soil density testing experience.

 NCDOT/ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade 1 certification.

 NCDOT (QMS Roadway, Conventional Density) knowledge.

 Valid drivers license and a clean driving record.

 Proficiency in using an iPad and knowledge of MS Office programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

 High school diploma or equivalent.

 A strong work ethic and high level of personal integrity.

 Ability to monitor contractors and report results verbally and in writing, including preparing clear and accurate detailed reports of testing activities and maintaining work activity records.

 Attention to detail, quality, and safety. NCDOT certifications in ABC Nuclear, QMS Density, Chemical Stabilization, ABC Sampling, and Borrow Pit.

 Experience in soils and concrete laboratory testing, including ACI concrete Strength Technician, Proctors, Liquid/Plastic Limits, and Wash 200. null
