Arlluk Technology Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company , is seeking a Database Administrator with a Public Trust clearance to support ATS and our government customer. This is a Remote opportunity.

The database administrator is responsible for supporting large complex data models and applications; design and implementation of back-end server solutions; and provide database support during development and maintenance in all environments. Participates in project development throughout the entire SDLC, the development of database standards and best practices, performs database design using data modeling tools (i.e. Erwin), database design review sessions, database documentation and workflow designs, and demonstrate the ability to translate customer requirements into solutions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Troubleshoot and provide technical solutions to database issues encountered by new and existing applications in the environment.

  • Actively monitor the database environment to increase efficiency, improve reliability, and minimize operating expenses.

  • Assist in the development of project plans for supported systems as necessary.

  • Proactively generate relevant ideas for new and improved use of technology and must understand the impacts of new projects and technical impacts to supported systems.

  • Create comprehensive database design documentation and schemes as necessary; design and implement new database changes or designs; and contribute, write, and maintain DB scripts for system DB maintenance in coordination with internal and external stakeholders and partner teams.

  • Develops, implements, administers, and maintains policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the data and database.

  • Implements data models, database designs, data access, and table maintenance codes.

  • Resolves database performance and capacity issues, replication issues, and other distributed data issues.

  • Produce data-based reports, ad-hoc statistical reports, and data extracts as required using current experience and understanding of the applications, particularly with respect to the database schema and data processing.

Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in database design and modeling, data architecture, and data warehousing environments.

  • Strong knowledge of IBM WebSphere (JDK 8), Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL, ERWin Diagrams, MS Access, Power BI, Azure, VM, MS Visio, and Experience with an Agile Scrum development methodology.

  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience in logical/physical modeling and three (3) years of technical experience in the AWS and DB2 8.2 in IBM/AIX environments.

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in database design, administration, and analyst with very proficient knowledge in Microsoft SQL Server and MS SQL replication architectures and other relational databases.

  • A sound understanding of Power BI implementations with MS SQL server is desired.

  • Experience with Federal compensation claims processing systems is required.

  • Public Trust clearance required.

Working Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
