J ob Summary / Purpose Delivers intraoperative care to the surgical patient, primarily in the scrub role. Assists surgeon/physician during surgical procedures.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities -

Maintains knowledge of surgical instrumentation, surgeon preferences and surgical procedures -

Prepares for surgical cases in an efficient manner, anticipating the needs of the patient, surgeon and anesthesia. -

Maintains knowledge of equipment set-up and functioning, seeks appropriate resources when necessary. -

Provides safe environment for patient and staff by adhering to standards of aseptic technique and departmental/hospital policy -

Assists in maintenance of physicians preference cards -

Communicates effectively with patient, staff and physicians

Participates in orientation of new personnel

Participates in Quality Improvement Projects

Maintains knowledge of supply ordering and inventory maintenance -

Attends departmental in-services and staff meetings

Other duties as assigned by management.
