Job Summary:

• Assists primary nurse in rooming and assessing patients for physician, reporting any concerns to physician and documenting all necessary clinical assessment in patient chart. Operates within scope of practice and facility policies and procedures.

• Works with patients, families, physicians, nursing personnel and other departments in providing care for the consulting clinic patients.

• Ability to assess safety needs of patients.

• Maintains knowledge of supply and equipment set-up, operation and maintenance. - Maintains patient confidentiality and retains a positive, friendly and courteous attitude to all patients and employees.

• Assists the consultants as needed according to their skill level and scope of practice (clerical/LPN).

• Assists with the preparation of forms and charts.

• Secures authorization signatures on the appropriate documents. - Completes ancillary service requisitions as necessary, i.e.: x-ray, lab, and respiratory.

• Cleans examination rooms between patients and washes instruments as needed. Assists patients with ambulation and transfer as needed.

Qualifications:

• Required Education for Staff Job Levels BLS or ACLS

• BLS for the Healthcare provider certified or obtained within three months of hire

• Mandatory Reporter: Proof of completion of Mandatory reporter abuse training specific to population served within three months of hire.

• RN, Current Iowa License

• BLS, Mandatory Reporter

• Obtains CEU’s required for license renewal
