Description

We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our clients fast-paced team. As an Accounting Specialist, you will primarily be responsible for processing payroll, handling garnishments, managing PTO/Holiday requests and managing a shared email inbox for a variety of requests. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, have quick data entry skills and possess the ability to quickly learn and master new tasks. Are you looking to kickstart your career? Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, manage, and update payroll information for all employees, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date.

  • Compute and process earnings, deductions, benefits, and other payroll actions in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Correspond with employees via email, phone, or in-person to answer any questions or concerns regarding their payroll accounts.

  • Make changes, updates, or corrections to individual payroll accounts as necessary.

  • Collaborate with the HR department to ensure correct employee data and assist in the onboarding and offboarding process.

  • Utilize payroll software with accuracy and efficiency, and adapt to new software or updates as necessary.

  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and maintaining an updated understanding of any changes in the laws.

  • Participate in periodic audits and reconciliations of payroll information.

  • Maintain confidentiality of all payroll information.

    Requirements

  • Strong administrative skills and previous exposure to payroll processing.

  • Detail-oriented with an ability to perform quick and accurate data entry.

  • Proven ability to learn new tasks quickly and retain information effectively.

  • Ability to take initiative and work independently in a fast-paced, lean team.

  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-service oriented approach to dealing with employee requests.
