This is work responsible for operating and maintaining County vehicles, heavy equipment, and performing manual labor activities.

Overtime is at 1.5 times the employee's hourly rate after 40 hours worked in a week. This position requires a CDL (Commercial Drivers License) Class B at minimum, higher compensation is considered for a CDL Class A. If hired with a CDL Class B, employees are typically eligible for additional compensation after obtaining a CDL Class A.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma or GED is required. One year education or experience in highway maintenance or equipment operation is preferred. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS:

Must possess a valid State of Colorado Commercial Driver License Class B upon hire, with complying insurance. Review of motor vehicle record is required at time of hire and periodically throughout employment. Incumbent is expected to obtain a Commercial Driver License Class A to achieve career progression in this classification series. Incumbents in this position must meet the Department of Transportation physical exam and drug and alcohol testing requirements. Must have a Flagger Certification. Must complete assigned training as required by the Department.
