Job Description

Job Specifications

The Corrosion Technician will safely perform repairs, maintenance, inspections, survey and installation of corrosion prevention equipment for natural gas pipeline system.

Pay Range:$30.79 - $46.08 per hour (This posting includes the full pay range for this position. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. )

Reporting Relationship:Gas Operations Supervisor/Manager

Location: Casper, WY

Reporting Requirement: Must live within 35 minutes of the reporting location.

Essential Functions:

· Maintain internal corrosion monitoring systems.

· Support internal and external control programs through specific corrosion task.

· Analyze and evaluate corrosion control survey results and make recommendation to correct abnormalities.

· Prepare and submit records for surveys, tests, work progress reports, and other corrosion related document in a timely manner.

· Test, adjust, and maintain all test leads, rectifiers, ground beds, and other corrosion mitigation equipment.

· Give technical support including diagnosing problems, training, etc.

· Other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

· Work with and/or oversee third party contractors for the installation of cathodic protection systems related equipment such as deepwell anode beds or AC mitigation systems.

· Coordinate with local staff during construction planning efforts.

· Interact with regulatory agencies during audit activities.

What You'll Need:

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· Minimum of 3 three years corrosion or natural gas systems experience

· PC knowledge and applicable software including Microsoft Office Applications.

· Complete recordkeeping associated with corrosion activities to ensure that work done is accounted for properly and accurately to be maintained for future reference.

· Ability to effectively communicate and cooperate with coworkers.

· Basic knowledge or willing to learn basic principles of corrosion and different types of corrosion.

What Is Desired Or Can Be Taught:

· NACE Certifications within 1-1/2 Yrs

· Pipeline Compliance System (PCS) Software Experience

· Conduct internal/external corrosion testing on steel piping.

· Performs cathodic protection surveys to identify areas necessitating additional corrosion testing.
