DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Dental Assistant for the Department of Corrections, you work with experienced dentists to provide basic dental services in a compassionate and professional manner to our inmate population. Duties include assisting a dentist during the examination and treatment of patients, scheduling appointments and managing daily patient flow, maintaining dental records, providing chairside assistance, maintaining dental office equipment, and performing dental laboratory procedures.   Interested in learning more?   • Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS *Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: *

  • One year of experience in a dental office or clinic; *or*
  • Successful completion of an accredited Dental Assisting certificate program; *or*
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

*Special Requirement:*

  • Successful completion of the Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) Exam as required by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry.

*Additional Requirement:*

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation.
