Amentum C-26 / Metroliner Army Transport Aircraft Mechanic (FAA A&P) - Camp Edwards ANG, Cape Cod, MA. in Camp Edwards, Massachusetts

The C-26 (Fairchild Metroliner) Army Transport Aircraft Mechanic (FAA A&P); The C-26 aircraft mechanic works under a Union CBA with Three (3) levels of experience available, each level has with its own Union CBA experience requirements.

  • A valid ( FAA) A&P Certificate is Required, which reflects compliance with FAR 65.83, recent experience requirements.

  • AM-1 ; Two (2) Years of FAA A&P mechanic experience is required, with Two (2) or more years of specific C-26 experience being preferred. AM-2 ; Five (5) years of specific C-26 hands-on FAA A&P aircraft mechanic experience is required under Union CBA for AM-2. AM-3; Ten (10) years of FAA A&P mechanic experience is required, with a minimum of Thirteen (13) years of C-26 specific aircraft experience required under the Union CBA to qualify for AM-3.

  • US Govt Secret Security Clearance will be required, US Citizenship is Required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

  • Is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying aircraft systems to ensure continued airworthiness.

  • Repairs are performed using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills.

  • Reads and interprets manufacturers’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.

  • Coordinates, plans, schedules, supervises, and performs organizational and intermediate level maintenance on C-26 aircraft.

  • Is responsible for all aspects of the servicing, repairing, and modifying aircraft systems at assigned site to ensure continued airworthiness, with a focus on troubleshooting.

  • Manages and/or performs tasks associated with the maintenance electrical systems, engines, flight controls and/or airframe components. Mentors and trains junior colleagues as required.

  • Capable of performing operational checks, troubleshooting, and isolation of malfunctions in aircraft

  • Experience in repairing or replacing components based on test results following blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documents.

Minimum Requirements for consideration:

  • High School degree or equivalent is required.

  • A valid ( FAA) A&P Certificate is Required, which reflects compliance with FAR 65.83, recent experience requirements.

  • AM-1 - Two (2) Years of FAA A&P mechanic experience is required, with Two (2) or more years of specific C-26 experience being preferred. AM-2 - Five (5) years of specific C-26 hands-on FAA A&P aircraft mechanic experience is required under Union CBA for AM-2. AM-3 - Ten (10) years of FAA A&P mechanic experience is required, with a minimum of Thirteen (13) years of C-26 specific aircraft experience required under the Union CBA to qualify for AM-3.

  • Completion of Military (US Army) or formal maintenance training on the assigned aircraft ( C-26 / Fairchild Metroliner ) is desired.

  • A valid Driver’s License is required.

  • Mechanic Tools are Required; Mechanics must provide their own Tools and Toolbox. Tools must be shadowed and etched with PID.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Govt Secret Security Clearance. Must also be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization to work at this facility, and to obtain a US Govt Secret Clearance.

  • May be required to work shifts and/or rotate for a multiple shift operation, per the Union CBA.

Preferred /Physical Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain a Valid US Passport for OCONUS Travel if and when required for operational necessity, (to deploy to overseas locations in support of operational requirements. If OCONUS deployment is requested, it will be based on seniority, per the Union CBA.

  • Be physically able to perform aircraft mechanic duties.

  • Ability to move freely about the interior of aircraft and in the unpressurized area aft of the aft pressure bulkhead and meet aircraft specific specs for weight limit.

  • Stand, squat, sit, walk, work with arms overhead for extended periods of time. Pull, push, lift to 50 lbs.

  • Able to pass physical medical examination as required.

  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.

  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining professional and non-confrontational attitude.
