Job Description
PROGRAM COORDINATOR, MIT Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences Collaboratives (MHASSC), to foster an ecosystem of individual excellence and cross-cutting collaboration in humanities research and provide the substrate for collaborations between HASS and STEM. Will perform complex and diverse administrative duties in support of the newly formed Collaboratives; and work closely with the MHASSC team to offer programming and community building that enhances education and research in the School of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences and the Collaboratives. Will report to the senior program manager in the Collaboratives and act as primary liaison for administrative matters including events, communications, and finances.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; at least two years of administrative and/or project/program management experience that included event planning; ability to work with students, faculty, and staff in a highly diverse, cross-cultural environment; excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, customer service, time-management, and organizational skills; experience organizing and managing events; and discretion and judgment with confidential information/issues. Must be able to work under pressure of deadlines in an environment with a high volume of work; interface effectively with students, faculty and staff; and balance multiple tasks simultaneously. PREFERRED: experience in higher education student services; experience with Google Docs, Zoom, and other database management systems; knowledge of MIT's financial and administrative systems (Atlas, Concur, SAP, Coupa); and knowledge of MIT policies related to finance administration.
