Surgical Tech - Surgery

St. John's Hospital Camarillo is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Tech to join our Surgical Services team. The Surgical Tech plays a crucial role in ensuring safe and efficient surgical procedures while providing exceptional patient care. Responsibilities

  • Assist surgeons and nursing staff during surgical procedures, maintaining sterile technique.

  • Prepare and organize surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.

  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and assist with instrument handoffs.

  • Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of surgical equipment.

  • Collaborate with the perioperative team to maintain a safe and clean surgical environment.

  • Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced surgical techs.

  • Assist in the training and orientation of new staff members.

  • Adhere to hospital policies, protocols, and infection control measures.

  • Participate in on-call and weekend rotations as required.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of two (2) years recent hospital experience in the capacity of a Surgical Technologist in all surgical specialties.

  • Demonstrates advanced skills appropriate to the role of the Surgical Technologist.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in ability to scrub ophthalmology procedures and total joint procedures OR proficiency in ability to scrub Cardiac procedures.

  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist

  • American Heart Associate CPR required

This position is represented by SEIU Local UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Pay Range

$33.75 - $42.17 /hour
