Wood County Hospital Paramedic - Emergency Department in Bowling Green, Ohio

Wood County Hospital is accepting applications for a Paramedic. The Emergency Department paramedic provides personal care and professional excellence by working collaboratively and cooperatively with nurses and physicians in caring for patients in the Emergency Department.

Job Duties:

  • Brings patients to the treatment area after evaluation by the triage nurse and at the direction of the triage nurse.

  • Obtains vital signs, gathers patient data and records on patient chart.

  • Initiate IV lines, and obtain lab specimens as needed.

  • Sets up suture trays and other sterile fields.

  • Applies dressings.

  • Assists with/applies orthopedic devices including but not limited to ace wraps, crutches, knee immobilizers, finger splints and wrist splints.

  • Assists patient with emergent needs.

  • Provides psychosocial support for patients and their families/significant others as needed.

  • Administers ACLS interventions at the direction and supervision of the attending physician.

Shift Details:

Hours: Full Time 36hpw

Shift: Afternoons 1045-2315 / Weekend and holiday shift rotation required 

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum Education:            

  • Graduate from a Paramedic Training Program.

Minimum Certification:        

  • Certification as EMT-P

  • Certification in BLS, ACLS and PALS required
