Western Kentucky University Tax Compliance Accountant in Bowling Green, Kentucky

Reporting to the University Controller/Treasurer, the Tax Compliance Accountant oversees international income tax withholding and reporting to the IRS, ensures compliance with IRS regulations concerning worker classification and make determinations on such requests, and manages the University's property and casualty insurance programs including claims activity.

The following duties are customary for this position but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.

  • Manage and oversee WKU international income and tax withholding and reporting responsibilities.

  • Ensure compliance with IRS regulations concerning worker classification and make determinations on such requests.

  • Prepare and submit annual 1042 forms for nonresident aliens.

  • Oversee the University's insurance contracts for auto, property, and various departments' required general liability insurance.

  • Handle/submit all claims for auto, property, student accident and Kentucky Board of Claims.

  • Liaison for WKU insurance agent and various department contacts.

    Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

  • Minimum three years' experience in business field

    Additional Information:

Salary Range: $56,000 to $65,000
