The Western Kentucky University College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) welcomes applications for the staff position of Clinic Director. This position reports directly to the CSD department chair. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily clinical operations as well as developing and maintaining clinical programming.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with community partners.

  • Secures funding in support of clinical operations and education (such as grant funding, donorship, sponsored events, etc.).

  • Coordinates clinical supervisors to include onboarding, communications, and regular interactions (meetings, trainings, etc.).

  • Supports HIPAA compliance training and ASHA code of ethics training.

  • Oversees client intake process.

  • Schedules and assigns assessment and therapy sessions.

  • Manages and oversees the Clinic's electronic medical records management system.

  • Assures compliance with national standards established by HIPAA to protect clients' personal health information and treatment plans.

  • Coordinates with WKU Accounts Payable/Billing.

  • Organizes and maintains inventory of clinic materials and equipment.

  • Collaborates with office administrative staff to facilitate the purchase of assessment and therapy materials.

  • Coordinates with faculty and staff to streamline academic and clinical instruction.

  • Maintains clinical internship course sites in learning management system (Blackboard).

  • Teaches a minimum of one course per semester.

  • Promotes clinical research opportunities for faculty and students.

  • Serves as liaison to all CSD faculty regarding clinical internship matters.

  • Organizes orientation for all students enrolled in clinical internships.

  • Provides clinical supervision for undergraduate and/or graduate students.

  • Designs, plans, organizes, and implements summer "bootcamp" clinic for graduate distance students.

  • Attends University, CHHS, and CSD department meetings.

  • Contributes to the CSD strategic plan

  • Contributes to planning and documentation for program accreditation and university academic program reviews.

  • Maintains ASHA certification & KY clinical licensure.

  • Additional duties as needed.

    Job Requirements:

  • Masters in Speech and Language Pathology,

  • Current CCC/SLP certification from ASHA,

  • Current Kentucky State SLP licensure,

  • Minimum 3 years job-related experience, with at least 1 year of supervisory experience, and

  • Documented maintenance of CAA/ASHA standards,

  • Current malpractice insurance, and

  • Current negative TB test or chest X-ray.
