SCHEDULE: 40 hours, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm, with flexibility and occasional evening and/or weekend hours
LOCATION: 444 Harrison Ave., 6th Floor
JOB DESCRIPTION:
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Training Specialist will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering training programs to employees across the organization. This individual will work closely with department managers to identify training needs and develop effective learning solutions. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator with strong presentation and facilitation skills. They should also have a solid understanding of adult learning principles and be able to create engaging and interactive training materials and activities.

REQUIRED:
Bachelor-s degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, or a related field
PREFERRED:
Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) certification via Association for Talent Development
CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Instructor certification (or the ability to become certified)
Experience in Human Services or Behavioral Health sectors
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in training and development, preferably in a corporate setting
Strong presentation and facilitation skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Solid understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies
Experience delivering training programs in a variety of formats (classroom, virtual, blended)
Superior project management skills and proven experience in connecting people and projects across functional areas
Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint), Zoom and experience with learning management systems
Strong emotional intelligence, self-awareness and ability to lead with empathy and inquiry
Experience developing trusting relationships with colleagues
PREFERRED:
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
PHYSICAL ABILITIES/SKILLS:

Ability to physically access different training locations
Ability to lift, transport and set up audio-visual and training equipment and supplies
Ability to communicate in person, by telephone and by computer.
Requires long periods of standing and presenting to groups
Position requires long periods of sitting working at a desktop/laptop computer
Must be able to travel to various programs as occasionally needed

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Collaborate with program/department managers to identify skills/knowledge gaps, assess training needs and develop training plans
Design and develop training materials, including visual presentations, handouts, job aids and e-learning modules
Facilitate engaging and interactive training sessions, ensuring that all participants are actively involved and that learning objectives are met
Facilitate and monitor New Employee Orientation on a rotating basis
Introduce and monitor virtual training sessions led by adjunct or outside instructors
Evaluate training effectiveness and make necessary improvements based on feedback and results
Use HRIS software/learning management system to update and track training records
Evaluate quality and effectiveness of external training events
Set up training room furniture, equipment and other supplies needed to conduct training
Stay current on industry trends and best practices in training and talent development
Participate in projects of the Training and/or Human Resources Departments and complete other duties as assigned
