Location: Othello , Washington. Applicant \"MUST HAVE\" 3 months of experience.

Job Duties Crops/Commodities: apples, pears, cherries, wine grapes. Primary tasks of a van driver will be the operation of general-purpose vehicles to transport workers, equipment, and products from one location or facility to another. Workers will be instructed in safety and operation of the vehicles/equipment before driving/operation. Vehicles must be driven in a manner to protect operators, other workers, products, trees, crops, and equipment. Van drivers must have a valid Washington State Driver\'s License. Van drivers must complete our Authorized Driver process including Fleet Safety Training and have a safe driving record by meeting vehicle record grading criteria. Van drivers must release permission to obtain their Washington State (MVR) Motor Vehicle Record. Van drivers must not have any Major Violations that include: Excessive Speeding 15 mph or more over the posted speed limit. Any DUI, DWI, BAC, Controlled Substance, or open container convictions in the last 5-years. Failure to stop/report an accident. Racing or Exhibition driving. Careless/Reckless/Imprudent driving.

Making a false accident report. Vehicular homicide, manslaughter or assault resulting from a vehicle related incident. Attempting to elude a police officer. Any suspension or revocation in the last 3 years. 3 or more moving violations in the last 3-years 2 or more moving violations in the last year Van driver\'s will be required to pass a Migrant Seasonal Protection Standard (MSPA) certification in order to operate vehicles and to transport migrant workers. Van drivers must be able to complete a vehicle inspection daily to check the condition of a vehicle\'s tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in working order. Test vehicle equipment, such as lights, brakes, horns, or windshield wipers, to ensure proper operation. Van drivers must be able to complete or assist with the completion of accident reports when necessary. Van drivers must comply with traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.

Van drivers must follow relevant safety regulations and state laws governing vehicle operation, and ensure that passengers follow safety regulations. Van drivers must be able to perform routine vehicle maintenance, such as regulating tire pressure and adding gasoline, oil, and water. Van drivers must be able to pick up and drop off workers at regularly scheduled worksite locations, following strict time schedules, and be able to assist with transportation to appointments as requested. Van drivers must maintain their vehicles clean by vacuuming and cleaning interiors, and wash and polish exteriors of vehicles as requested by camp managers. Van drivers must be willing to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed to transport workers daily. Van drivers must be fluent in Spanish and be able to communicate verbally with passengers as they are transported to and from work locations. Repeated failure to obey safety requirements and operating instructions as listed above may result in termination. Primary tasks will be thinning, planting, training and trellising trees, summer pruning and harvesting of apples, pears, cherries and wine grapes. Workers will install, deploy and remove shade cloth; install, maintain and operate irrigation system. Ability to pick up, use and safely handle a 12 foot orchard ladder weighing approximately 40 lbs. is necessary for performance of general orchard duties. Qualified workers (workers who possess at least one season of previous experience performing the following duties) may b offered tasks including, but not limited to, the operation of vehicles to transport equipment and product from one field location or facility to another and the operation of tractors, planters, sprayers, cultivators, cherry dryers, vehicles and/or forklifts. Workers will be instructed in safety and operation of the vehicles/equipment before driving/operation. Vehicles, tractors, forklifts should be driven in a manner to protect operator, other workers, products, trees, crops and equipment. Repeated failure to obey safety requirements and operating instructions may result in termination. Under supervision of certified pesticide applicator, may mix and apply pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and/or fertilizer.

Planting - Workers will prepare fields for planting by clearing cull stock, brush and debris; dig holes, plant seedlings or liners\' by hand (including riding on the planting machine, reaching and grabbing a tree and dropping it in the hole and inserting liners in a mechanical planter); shovel dirt around newly-planted trees. Thinning - Thinning is a manual process used to control the size and fruit quality of grown fruit. Employees will be given appropriate training by supervisors. Ability to pick up, use and safely handle a 12 foot orchard ladder weighing approximately 40 lbs. is necessary for performance of thinning tasks. This process requires the employee to be able to appropriately remove the smallest fruit blossom, bud and/or identifiable fruit from within a cluster of other fruits. Workers will be
