The Coughlin Foot & Ankle Orthopedics Clinic is now hiring for a personable and efficient Medical Assistant to work at our clinic located on our Regional Medical Center campus in Boise.

Position Summary & Highlights :

  • $1500 Sign On Bonus offered to external applicants!

  • Saint Alphonsus hospital provides comprehensive care to patients who suffer musculoskeletal conditions or other foot and ankle injuries. These conditions may arise from localized arthritic conditions, tendon injuries, or misalignment problems of the foot and ankle, many of which have been the result of sports injuries or trauma.

  • Our goal is to treat people with the most advanced surgical and non-surgical treatments in order to return them to their highest level of function.

  • The Coughlin Clinic is one of only a handful of hospitals in the country where the Scandinavian Total Ankle Replacement (S.T.A.R.) is being used as a safe and viable alternative to ankle arthrodesis.

  • Saint Alphonsus' foot and ankle team includes orthopedic surgeons who specialize in orthopedic foot and ankle surgery. They treat the most common to the most complex cases and is active in clinical medical research, helping improve foot and ankle care for all their patients.

What You Will Do :

  • You will be supporting APP staff with their clinics and patient care.

  • Assist with procedures, drawing up injections, and wound care.

  • Also assist with casting, splinting, suture removal, and applying dressings.

  • Complete surgery scheduling, prior authorizations, and referrals.

  • This clinic boasts a positive and enjoyable work environment and strong teamwork!

  • An idea candidate for this position likes to work in a busy, fast-paced clinic environment, has strong organizational skills, and enjoys learning new things and providing excellent patient care.

  • You also like to work in a supportive and strong team-oriented environment!

Work Schedule :

  • Mondays – Thursdays, typically 7:30am – 4:45pm, and Fridays, 7:30am - 1:00pm.

  • Currently the clinic is closed on Friday afternoons, but this could change in the future.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • MA certification required within 90 days of eligibility to take a national certification exam from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:

  • American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)

  • American Medical Technologists (RMA)

  • National Healthcare Association (CCMA)

  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)

  • American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)

  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.

  • For new MA graduates, minimum of 100 hour externship or MA work experience is required, even with MA certification.
