GeoStabilization International Heavy Equipment Driver / Operator in Boise, Idaho

Overview

We are looking to add aVibratory Post Driver / Wood Punch Truck Operator / Driver (Heavy Equipment Driver / Operator) to our expanding team. This role works in a team environment repairing our country's infrastructure and keeping roadways safe for our families and community.

RAILCO LLCspecializes in metal guardrail installation including terminal installation, bridge rail installation, bridge rail retrofit, cable barrier, permanent attenuator installs and temporary concrete barrier setting and removal. Although starting our business serving the Idaho transportation construction industry, we have since grown our business to include eastern Oregon, western Wyoming, northern Utah and northern Nevada. We look forward to continued growth and expanding territories throughout the coming years.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Operate the vibratory post driving equipment and wood punch trucks and trailer safely and efficiently during guardrail installation projects.

  • Ensure the vibratory post driving trucks and wood punch trucks and trailers are properly maintained and in good working condition before and after each use.

  • Transport guardrail materials and equipment to job sites in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.

  • Set up and prepare the post driving truck and trailers for guardrail installation activities

  • Assist in the installation of guardrail systems, including positioning, aligning, and securing guardrail components using the post driving truck.

  • Collaborate with other team members, such as crew leaders and equipment operators, to ensure efficient workflow and completion of tasks.

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries during operations.

  • Conduct routine inspections of post driving trucks and trailers to identify any potential issues or maintenance needs, reporting findings to supervisors as necessary.

  • Maintain accurate records of work activities

  • Follow instructions from supervisors and communicate effectively with team members to ensure project goals are met on time and within budget.

  • Participate in training programs and safety meetings to stay updated on industry best practices and equipment operation techniques. Uphold company policies and procedures at all times, promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, and professionalism among crew members.

    Qualifications

  • Basic Qualifications

  • CDL Class A with 1 year+ applicable experience driving

  • Availability to travel up to 75% of the time, including overnight travel

  • Ability to work overnight (<25% of projects)

  • Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance in the field

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Experience operating heavy equipment, such as trucks or machinery, preferably in construction or road maintenance settings.

  • Ability to read and understand construction plans, diagrams, and safety instructions.

  • Basic mathematical skills for measuring distances, angles, and dimensions.

  • Physical strength and stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds or more).

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.

  • Good communication skills to effectively interact with team members and supervisors.

  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and environments.

  • Commitment to safety protocols and adherence to company policies and procedures.

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience specifically operating a wood punch truck or similar equipment used in guardrail installation.

  • Knowledge of guardrail installation techniques, materials, and industry standards.

  • Additional certifications or training in equipment operation, safety procedures, or construction-related fields.

  • Familiarity with hydraulic systems and their maintenance requirements.

  • Ability to troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and perform basic repairs on equipment.

  • Experience working on road construction or infrastructure projects.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing work conditions or project requirements.

  • Leadership qualities and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Proficiency in using mobile devices or computer software for recording work activities and communicating with supervisors.

  • Willingness to undergo further training or certification programs to enhance job skills and career development opportunities.

    This role traditionally includes overtime. Heavy travel in Idaho and occasionally adjacent states.
