Job Description:

Candidate must be local to the area and able to work onsite. Some telecommuting allowed.

We are currently looking for a Network Administrator to join our team. The individual hired for this position will provide support for our government customer located at Mount Weather Emergency Operations Center with some travel to the Washington, DC office for meetings. You should have broad knowledge and varied experience in some type of virtualization, systems security compliance, networking, and server management. You will have the opportunity to design and set the vision for new systems we are developing for the customer.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Responsibilities may include the following:

  • Plan/manage/configure Windows Servers, Network Policy Servers, Active Directory Services, Domain Name Servers (DNS), VMware ESXi hosts and Cisco virtual machines.

  • Install various operating systems to include Windows server, VMWare ESXi server, VMWare VSphere, all versions up to latest releases on both virtual physical platforms.

  • Plan/manage/configure Active Directory (AD) structure, group policy objects (GPO), logon scripts, DHCP scopes and PowerShell scripts.

  • Plan/manage/configure Cisco enterprise switches and distribution switches, virtual switches, and Video Teleconferencing equipment.

  • Plan/manage/configure Trend Micro Deep Security Manager and TippingPoint IDS/IPS.

  • Maintain technical documentation on various systems for accreditation efforts.

The ideal candidate will meet most of the following criteria:

  • Firm grasp of Nessus scanning tool capabilities and the proper methods for remediating security vulnerability findings.

  • Familiar with monitoring trusted sources for Common Vulnerability and Exposure notifications and parsing CVE information into actionable workflows for the supported systems.

  • Familiar with monitoring vendor patch notifications for systems software updates and vulnerability patching.

  • Understanding of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), implementation of STIG procedures, and STIG compliance checking.

  • Familiar with TrendMicro Deep Security platform, and a baseline understanding of how to deploy stateful packet inspection firewalls to network edge connections.

  • Familiar with Splunk monitoring software and capable of creating custom dashboards tailored to portray specific data sets.

  • Familiar with SolarWinds Netflow Traffic Analyzer, Network Performance Monitor, Server & Application Monitor, and Security Event Monitor.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • BA/BS or equivalent with 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Available for travel within the continental United States for periods of time up to two weeks in support of mission activities.

  • Possesses an active TOP SECRET/SCI clearance and possesses eligibility requirements to access classified information.

  • Must pass DHS/FEMA suitability screening.

  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to articulate complex mission information to members of U.S. Government’s leadership.

  • Be capable of establishing and cultivating friendly relationships with partner agency personnel, third party equipment providers, and sibling programs.

  • Must be self-sufficient and capable of maintaining required operational tempo when working autonomously or with minimal supervision.

  • Work location will be Bluemont, VA with limited travel to Washington, D.C. and offices in the DMV area.

  • Work hours are flexible, but staff must meet minimal requirements on a weekly basis.

  • CONUS travel is at the request of the customer and may not be flexible under some circumstances.

The likely salary range for this position is $108,800 - $147,200. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
