Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE

A Technician is responsible for the accurate preparation of non-sterile extemporaneous products, unit-dose preparation;

inventory control; medication delivery, distribution, and storage; care of supplies and equipment; and management of

automated medication dispensing systems. Assists the pharmacist in all aspects of the daily departmental activities,

including training new staff and students, billing, record keeping and other clerical functions, and other duties as

assigned by the pharmacist or pharmacy leader.

ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Daily filling and delivery of patient medications

  2. Refills automated dispensing machines and robot

  3. Maintains proper stock levels of drugs and supplies

  4. Complies with USP 795 and 800 regulations

  5. Prepares non-sterile extemporaneous products

  6. Completes assigned Date checking

  7. Labels all products including barcodes according to policy

  8. Follows appropriate procedures for handling of controlled substance

  9. Relates well and has good communication skills with staff, patients, and visitors. Maintains

confidentiality

  1. Computer proficiency

  2. Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

Required Education: High School graduate or GED required

Enrollment in an American society of health systems pharmacists

accredited academic program OR an American society of health

systems pharmacists accredited on-the-job training program.

Required Licensure and Certifications Licensed as a ND Pharmacy Technician in training as required by the

ND State Board of Pharmacy. Within 24 months of hire, must

complete training program approved by the board of pharmacy and

Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)

Pay Range

$16.29 - $21.79 /hour
