Youth Services Aide

JOB INFORMATION

The Youth Services Aide is a permanent full-time position with the Department of Youth Services. This position is located at various facilities throughout the state. This is non-professional work involving the supervision, observation, security, and rehabilitation of youth in a group living situation. No examination is required. No employment register is maintained. Applicants meeting the qualifications below may apply directly to the Department of Youth Services or to the State Personnel Department to be placed on the direct appointment list for Youth Services Aide. Employees in this class assist students in social interaction adjustment and are responsible for the safety, care, and custody of students.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT

High school diploma or GED

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT

According to Act 85-681 of the Alabama Legislature, you may not be hired if you have been convicted of the following crimes: murder, rape in the first degree, kidnapping in the first degree, assault in the first degree, arson in the first degree, or a crime dealing with abuse of children. You will be subject to a criminal background check before you are hired.
