The Opportunity:
As a Project Manager on our engineering team supporting the US Navy, you'll lead cutting-edge projects that directly impact national security and naval capabilities. This is a unique opportunity to manage complex, high-stakes initiatives while working alongside some of the brightest minds in engineering and defense. You'll be at the forefront of technology, ensuring that the Navy remains a global leader in maritime strength and innovation.
This position will primarily be on-site at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division in Bethesda, MD.
Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will:
Lead the planning, execution, and successful completion of engineering projects, ensuring they meet scope, schedule and budget requirements.
Coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors, to deliver high-quality solutions on time.
Serve as the primary point of contact between the Navy, stakeholders, and the project team, facilitating clear communication and effective decision-making.
Manage project risks, issues, and changes, ensuring all are addressed promptly and effectively.
Develop and maintain detailed project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and risk management plans.
Ensure compliance with Navy regulations, standards, and best practices in all aspects of project execution.
Support the continuous improvement of project management processes and methodologies within the team.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in project management, preferably within a defense or engineering environment.
Proven experience managing large-scale, complex projects from inception through completion
Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Desired:
Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience working directly with the US Navy or other military branches.
Familiarity with Navy-specific regulations, standards, and project management methodologies.
Agile or Lean Six Sigma certification.
Experience with budgeting and financial management in a project management context.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Range : There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$71,500 - $150,200
