Description:

The part-time Registry Nursing Supervisor maintains continuous patient care and consistent application of Loyola University Medical Center policies and procedures by supervising nursing activities and nursing personnel on assigned shift. The supervisor promotes MAGIS behavior within the organization and patient care area; and supports various health system-sponsored programs. Recognizes, promotes and consistently applies knowledge of 14 Forces of Magnetism.

What you will do:

Patient Care & Assessment:

Supports the organization’s mission, philosophy, operating principles, model of care, and strategic plans/goals by interpreting and implementing established policies and procedures for the safe delivery of patient care. Assesses and helps resolve administrative and clinical problems to assure quality patient care. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of nursing units and utilizes available resources to provide optimum patient care. Provides information to media and community agencies as needed to assist in the dissemination of public information and investigations.

Plan of Care:

Advises and assists nursing staff in assessing patient's needs and

developing a plan of care throughout the life span to assure optimum patient care. Assists staff in ensuring that service expectation of

internal and external customers and colleagues are met or exceeded. Promote

established strategies to assess, improve, and monitor customer satisfaction of all customers including the healthcare team. Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team.

Communication:

Performs required documentation and communicates in a competent and effective manner to meet patient and/or family needs and regulatory requirements. Maintains strict confidentiality of patient, employee and department information to ensure patient rights.

Discharge Planning:

Reviews and evaluates discharge plans with the multidisciplinary teams, the patient, and family to promote timely and appropriate discharge.

Quality Improvement:

Utilizes time and resources effectively to promote quality and cost outcomes

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN): Master's degree preferred.

  • BLS (Basic Life Support certification) CPR required.

  • ACLS preferred.

  • 3-5 years of previous job-related experience; 6-10 years preferred.

  • Current RN license in the State of Illinois.
