The MITRE Strategic Communications team is creating impactful brand storytelling, immersive experiences, and differentiated content for our talent, customers, partners, influencers, and the communities in which we work and live. We are looking for a skilled Multimedia Senior Specialist to serve as a visual communications specialist to help Strategic Communications develop and produce high-quality and impactful video and photography that will promote MITRE’s national impact and illustrate how we deliver on our mission of Solving Problems for a Safer World.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Support all aspects of video production, both pre- and post-production.

  • Capture and edit visual content, both video and photography.

  • Work with a creative brief to understand goals and specifications; work closely with the art team to develop concepts.

  • Anticipate and respond to multimedia needs and requests from collaborators both internal and external to Strategic Communications.

  • Coordinate/and or assist with in-studio and location shoots.

  • Edit and assemble recorded raw material into a suitable, branded finished product ready for distribution; these materials may include camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics, and special effects.

  • Ensure all projects are on schedule and of the highest quality.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and respond to changing schedules and priorities.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and storytelling skills.

  • Expertise with video and audio effects.

  • Must be committed to a team environment to help ensure quality assurance.

  • Excellent client relationship management and interpersonal skills with ability to initiate and foster collaborative relationships both internally and externally.

  • Must be comfortable interacting with MITRE staff and stakeholders at all levels as a representative of Strategic Communications.

  • Advanced post-production skills, including:

  • 5+ years of non-linear video editing (Adobe required).

  • Proficiency with Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects.

  • Knowledge of video workflows and postproduction methodologies with a strong sense of storytelling.

  • Skilled at color grading, audio enhancement (Adobe Audition), 3D lighting effects, utilizing different color keys for background changes with strong compositing skills.

  • Advanced pre-production skills, including:

  • Strong working knowledge of Canon DSLR based video cameras, lighting (both studio and location) digital recorders, and basic gaffer skills.

  • Ability to work on a team or alone with all facets of a video production.

  • Ability to set up, break down, and move video production gear.

  • Advanced photography skills, including:

  • Strong working knowledge of Canon DSLRs.

  • Understanding of still photography concepts in portrait/headshots, still life, events, and corporate work.

  • Understanding of strobes, flashes, steady lights, and color temperature.

  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop is essential.

  • BA/BS preferred
