SUMMARY

The Receiving Associate collaborates directly with the team coordinator and department supervisor to ensure customer product is shipped on time, as specified with all required documentation. This position is key to company quality standards. .

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • De-trash boxes of receiving materials.

  • Verify packaging and paperwork regarding the count, AVL/AML, part number, shelf life, traceability, and other requirements of received materials.

  • Receive materials in system and track inventory by performing computer transactions.

  • Print required labels and paperwork for materials.

  • Move materials to inspection or stock holding areas.

  • Create Receiving Discrepancy Reports to notify the purchasing department of incongruent materials received.

  • Work with purchasing, engineering, or quality departments to receive materials once discrepancies are resolved

  • Contribute to a positive team working environment.

  • Maintain a clean and organized area.

  • Drive continuous improvement by looking for opportunities for improvement and working projects, small and large, to successful completion resulting in improved performance and profits.

  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.

  • Treat everyone at Vanguard, its vendors and customers with dignity, respect and professionalism at all times.

OTHER DUTIES

  • Cross-train and assist in other areas as needed, including the stockroom, cycle counting, and shipping support

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent

Requirements

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Computer Skills

Basic level of proficiency in computer systems

Language Skills

English (reading, writing, and verbal)

Mathematical Skills

General math skills and ability

Other Skills

  • Demonstrate ability to work accurately with numbers, material lists, and electronic components required.

  • Ability to actively follow detailed directions written and verbal.

  • Demonstrated self-motivation, problem solving abilities, team spirit and a “hands on” mentality.

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Ability to prioritize and organize several activities to meet daily, weekly, and monthly requirements.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and make productive use of time

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Receiving experience

  • MRP knowledge and/or experience

  • PCBA manufacturing experience
