Aerotek Electronics Manufacturer-Quality Inspector in Beaverton, Oregon

Description:

Shift: M-F 6am-2:30pm

Under general supervision, perform a wide range of quality inspections on components, materials, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies such that inspected items meet customer documentation, specified industry standards for workmanship, and any additional specifications called out by the customer. Works with engineers and manufacturing personnel to ensure effective inspection and testing procedures are implemented and maintained. Assists in development of production procedures to meet quality specifications and recommends procedural changes. Scope of responsibility requires use of initiative, ingenuity, and judgment. This position must perform these responsibilities with an awareness of all AS9100 and departmental requirements and IPC Electronic Assembly best practices.

 Thru-Hole Inspection

Additional Responsibilities

 Perform a wide variety of complex inspection processes on circuit assemblies to ensure quality levels at various stages of

production. Use of microscopes, precision measuring tools, Automated Optical Inspection and X-ray inspection equipment is

required.

 Monitor production operator performance for conformance to quality assurance standards.

 Determine acceptance, rejection, and/or rework criteria for specific products based on customer and internal documentation.

 Detect quality defects and analyze product variation to determine root cause.

 Develop corrective and improvement actions to eliminate defects and correct processes.

 Hand soldering of SMT and Thru-hole components to IPC 610 and J Std class 3 and perform board rework.

 Provide leadership and training to lower level inspectors.

 Operation of Automated Optical Equipment or X-ray inspection equipment

 Support MRB

 Accurate recording of Labor and Quality data, including Certificates of Conformance and labeling/marking as specified by

customer.

 Maintain quality standards in all aspects of work.

 Carry out all duties in a proficient, orderly and safe manner while maintaining a positive attitude and solid attendance record.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Education: High School Education, or equivalent

 Experience: Minimum of five years of related experience performing high-level inspection on electronic/precision assemblies.

 Excellent manual dexterity and vision.

 Knowledge of electronic component identification.

 Able to frequently lift 25-40 pounds totes.

 Ability to perform repetitive, detailed work using a microscope, small hand tools, and soldering irons on fine pitch components.

 Ability to read and understand a wide range of complex documentation (in English) required to inspect circuit board assemblies.

 Knowledge of IPC and AS9100 standards.

 Basic computer and math skills.
