Avionics Technician

Job Description

We are seeking experienced Electronics Technicians to support a maintenance program in Lake Charles, LA. The Navy E-6 is an airborne command post and communications relay based on the Boeing 707 platform, primarily used for long-range patrols along the U.S. border and in source and transit zone countries.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform flight line pre/post flight systems checks.

  • Conduct flight readiness checks, gear swings, flight control checks, and rigging of aircraft flight controls.

  • Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft avionics and electrical system components.

  • Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, and maintain various types of complex aircraft equipment, components, devices, or systems.

  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods, equipment performance, and team effectiveness.

  • Troubleshoot wiring, read install drawings, and perform electrical modifications, including routing, cannon plugs, terminating, and ring outs.

  • Install fiber optic cabling, inner rack cabling, remove existing wiring runs, and ensure proper routing, clamping, termination, and ring outs.

Essential Skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) with 10 years of Aircraft Avionics Experience.

  • Willingness to wear a respirator and other safety gear.

  • Ability to use a variety of manual hand tools such as crimpers, strippers, wire cutters, heat shrink gun, etc.

Pay:

  • $59.11/hour

  • Per diem available to those that qualify

  • Paid holidays effective day 1, and paid vacation after a year of service.

  • 6 month contract with a strong possibility of extension based of workload and performance.
