Description Robert Half is looking for a Staff Accountant for a client in the western suburbs. The Staff Accountant will report to the Assistant Controller. The Staff Accountant is a member of the corporate accounting team preparing, monitoring, and reconciling financial records for general ledger accounts. The Staff Accountant role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working with others as coordination with other departments is pivotal to success in this role.

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for:

• Balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly basis

• Prepare monthly journal entries including expense allocations, various expense accruals, and reclassifications as needed

• Monitor activity in prepaid accounts and record monthly journal entries

• Prepare and file sales and use tax returns

• Assist Accounts Payable with coding of vendor invoices

• Review and analyze various expenses including comparisons to budget

• Assist in the preparation of annual audit schedules

• Assist location personnel with accounting issues as needed

• Special projects as assigned

Successful Staff Accountant will have the following qualifications and skills:

• Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in Accounting

• 2-4 years related accounting experience

• Strong attention to detail and organization

• Ability to work independently and coordinate with other departments

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills

• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects and deadlines

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook
