The Respiratory care leader provides oversight of the respiratory therapy department, pulmonary function lab, sleep lab, and EEG.

The leader has 24/7 responsibility of the departments.

Responsibilities

Manage operations for Respiratory, Sleep Disorder, and/or other services.

  • Implement departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.

  • Assess quality of patient care.

  • Coordinate patient care services with patient, staff, physician, and other departments.

  • Manage staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, conflict management and other job related issues.

  • Oversee scheduling, recruitment and payroll.

  • Prepare and monitor departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

  • Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Maryland Board of Physicians obtained prior tohire date or job transfer date required.

  • Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board forRespiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

  • Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy ofPediatrics (AAP) preferred.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree with 2 years of experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specificexperience required.

  • 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
