Introduction

You'll be responsible for overall leadership and delivery of the solutions from requirement gathering through implementation. Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Solution Engineer you'll work closely with clients and the account team to define technology solutions including system-level architectures and technology services that meet the client's business goals. In this role, you are essential to the evaluation of the business needs and defining solutions with IBM technology and services that leverage and fit in with the client's software, hardware, and infrastructure.

A successful Solution Engineer will look for repeatable architecture patterns, automation, and assets to be deployed at scale to optimize each client engagement.

End-to-End Technical Guidance: Providing end-to-end technical guidance to lead discovery discussions with prospective clients, assess architecture needs for projects, work with the client and sellers to create and guide the delivery teams during implementation.

Contribute to Enterprise Architecture Decision Making: Creating and socializing development and testing best practices, coding standards, framework usage, code review tools and processes. Contribute to the creation of governing principles and information management repository to guide enterprise architecture decision making.

Team Enablement and Documentation: Documenting and enabling team members on solutions that include software configuration, systems architectures and related sizing in complex and first-of-a-kind hybrid-cloud solutions including phases such as design, development, integration, migration, production support and development operations. Building Successful Relationships: Being a trusted advisor at all levels - from engineers to CIOs - with experience of navigating challenging debate to reach healthy resolutions.

Mission: Accelerate the progression of services opportunities by bringing deep technical expertise to help define the 'to-be" solution prior to SOW creation. We are best suited to help with first-of-a-kind (FOAK), complex or strategic opportunities, including watsonx and cross-brands.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 5+ years of Cloud solution design and implementation experience.

• 5+ years of Network Architecture and Design experience.

• 3+ years of experience in architecting, implementing, and troubleshooting VMware network environments (NSX).

• 7+ years of Systems Administration, Engineering, and Architecture experience.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• 3+ years of storage, backup, and recovery administration/engineering/architecture experience.

• Be a hands on technical architect who will lead the team from the front and be able to inspire thought leadership.

• 3+ years of hands on experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, or other Containerization solutions.

• 2+ years of hands on experience delivering cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, Google, or VMware).

The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws.
