UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN Carpenter (Swing Shift) in Austin, Texas

Repair, replace and perform preventive maintenance on doors, automated doors and associated hardware as well as other assigned systems. Repair and replacement of electric mortise locks. Driving University owned vehicles to job sites will be required for this and most other functions.Repair and install emergency exit hardware, ceiling tile, walls (sheet rock, masonry, etc.) and signage using hand and power tools such as circular saw, drill, hand tools, router, table saw, sander, grinder, nail guns, and other equipment. Also, use meters and specialty tools.Generate material lists and organize required materials for efficient work. Keep accurate records of materials used and maintain daily time reports to efficiently complete work and document details of the functions performed.Assist other team members in the accomplishment of shop goals related to key performance indicators. Participate in the maintenance and operations of the shop. Clean and maintain tools and equipment used to perform duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment.Provide timely and courteous customer service, keep supervisors up to date on daily work order status to ensure clear, concise and necessary communication channels are maintained and customer expectations are met.Works independently and as a team member. Assists other team members as necessary with training in work techniques to accomplish team goals in a safe and timely manner. Inspects the work of others for conformance with specifications, requirements, and compliance with applicable building and safety codes and regulations.Participates in the On-Call program.
