Job Summary:

We are seeking a Network Engineer to join our Engineering team. The qualified candidate will support the design, development, Integration, and maintenance of our modern infrastructure Network framework. The environments are a mix of physical and virtualized servers, workstations, storage, networks, and custom hardware, providing the enterprise hybrid-cloud backbone for product development and testing for a large program producing a critical, strategic national asset. This will include a mixture of hands-on keyboard Network Engineering work as well as documentation and baseline control.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have an engineering mindset, have the ability and willingness to troubleshoot complex network problems, seeking to understand virtualized design elements in a dynamic environment.

NOTE: This position will be based out of the RTX Facility in Aurora CO; but some support may be required on site at Schriever SFB Colorado Springs, CO; or Vandenburg SFB Lompoc, CA, to support Installation and Test activities.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • You will leverage company and industry best practices and capabilities to assist with Network design, development, implementation, and support of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Operating System for the project.

  • You will support software deployment of templates, dashboards, and scripts to support program need for the effort.

  • You will Design, implement, generate code through scripting tools, test, document, and maintain the system.

  • You will assist with development of build/test and integration, optimizing for performance and scalability across on-premise computing environments.

  • You will assist engineers with RHEL based tool usage and issues, leveraging standards and best practices.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active/Current DOD-Secret Security Clearance is required day 1, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Typically requires BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology Engineering Math (STEM) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Physics and minimum of 5+ years of related work experience.

  • Experience with Data Center LAN and WAN design, implementation, diagnostics, performance, and management.

  • Experience with Linux system Administration / VMware.

  • Experience with configuring cloud networking in AWS, security groups.

  • Experience scripting skills (i.e. PowerShell, Python, Ruby, bash, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Network Certifications such as CCNP/CCIE.

  • Knowledge/experience with DoD Network Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and IA hardening requirements and implementation.

  • Experience with managing virtual machines / virtual network infrastructure.

  • Understanding of DevOps/DevSecOps concepts.

  • Experience with the Agile development lifecycle.

  • Experience with monitoring of virtualized network environments.

  • Security Plus within 90 days.

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

  • Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

  • Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
