Delta Technologies Product Engineer - Compression in Auburn Hills, Michigan

US Farathane is seeking a Product Engineer to support our Compression Molding 

 

Summary: The Product Engineer is responsible to manage and develop new product for specific customer programs with focus on internal and external customer deliverables to include design and part feasibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and communicate development of new product- daily
  • Support design activities of new product including tolerance stack up and GD&T- daily.
  • Manage testing requirements for new products - as required
  • Maintain and manage ED&T budgets for each assigned program-weekly
  • Maintain APQP database (Phase 0 & 1) for each assigned program -- weekly
  • Creating and maintaining DFMEA, DVP, Open Issues, Bill of materials
  • Incorporating the items with compression tool feasibility in the final product design.
  • Support data driven root cause and decision making when resolving issues.
  • Support USF customers with ongoing communication meetings -- weekly
  • Support tool trials and pre-production build activities, as needed
  • Support launch activities at USF manufacturing and customer sites-throughout launch and SOP Post 90 activities.  Some travel required.

  • Education and Experience: BSME or equivalent.
  • Language Skills; Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaint from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Experience with compression molding tooling and process for automotive trim components
