Position Summary

In support of Morehouse School of Medicine’s Vision; “Leading the creation and advancement of health equity,” the Department of Public Health is seeking a Teaching Associate to join their team!

The main effort for this appointment is significant contributions to departmental teaching and service programs.

General Responsibilities:

· Engage in curriculum coordination and management, research, and service in public health. Participate in core and elective public health courses and workshops in the residential and online MPH programs as the institution prepares for a school of public health.

· Assist in the development, documentation, and dissemination of new advances and innovations in public health education, measurement, and evaluation.

· Provides support to students and faculty in the Master of Public Health Program.

· Provides instructions to students in the development of proper study habits and test-taking strategies.

· Disseminates score reports on subject examinations to Course Directors.

· Assists in the tracking of the overall student performance and prepares reports of those factors, which may predict success in the curriculum.

· Provide academic support to core faculty.

· Prepare articles, reports, presentations.

· Conduct literature reviews.

· Collect and analyze data.

· Prepare materials for submission to granting agencies and foundations.

Specific Duties:

· Participate in the curriculum coordination and management of courses in the Department of Public Health Education.

· Develop course materials and contribute to curriculum design as assigned.

· Serve as data analyst for master’s research.

· Review master’s research for accuracy in revision and format.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree with experience in curriculum coordination and management.

Preferred Qualifications

· Master of Public Health degree

· Prior experience with public health course development.

· Public health and/or research experience

Immunization

Immunization Requirements

It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID -19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
