Microsoft Corporation Senior Software Engineer in Atlanta, Georgia

We are looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to join our team. We are at the very Core of Azure platform. Our group works closely with Azure Systems Research Group to bring the latest and greatest innovation in Server technologies to our data centers. As part of this group, you will be working with nearly every internal partner of Azure and will have to come up with creative ways to productize the scenarios that these new technologies enable for Azure and its customers.

In this role, you will be working to build the core infrastructure services that enable hosting control and data plane services. You will have to find creative solutions to mitigate risks arising from such fundamental shift in technologies. You will be responsible for influencing core architecture of the Azure stack and design and deliver functionalities end to end. You would have opportunities to demonstrate technical leadership, design distributed systems at scale, and deliver high quality of service through live site excellence. Prior exposure to technologies such as Azure, .Net/C#/C++, building applications platforms or frameworks, building scalable services will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and implements code for a product, service, or feature.

  • Maintain communication with key partners across the Microsoft ecosystem of engineers.

  • Contribute to efforts to ensure the correct processes are followed to achieve a high degree of security, privacy, safety, and accessibility.

  • Contribute to efforts to collect, classify, and analyze data with little oversight on a range of metrics.

  • Maintain operations of live service as issues arise on a rotational, on-call basis.

  • Contribute to the identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product area with little oversight.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C++, C#, Java, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience

  • 2+ years of cloud infrastructure development experience

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code.

  • Experience in analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.

  • Experience in critical production online service environments

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
