Responsibilities

Education:

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.

Experience:

Prefer one (1) year experience as a Registered Nurse. Prefer six (6) months in psychiatric nursing. Knowledge of current nursing procedures, the nursing process, medications and their correct administration.

License/Certification:

Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia. Current Handle with Care and CPR Certification required.

Skills:

Demonstrated leadership, communication, teaching and management skills.

Physical Requirements:

Work is physically and mentally demanding. Extensive walking, standing, sitting and climbing stairs. Must be able to lift or move over fifty (50) pounds.

Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Intake and CEO

Qualifications

Responsible for delivering quality nursing care to both psychiatric and chemically dependent adult, geriatric and adolescent patients. To assess the needs of walk-in and phone callers and ensure their referral to the service or resource to best address their needs. Other responsibilities include being able to perform all aspects of the hospital’s assessment and referral process including efficient communication with referral sources, immediate patient/client disposition, arranging hospital transfer/discharge, and/or making connections to other community agencies and resources.
