Trinity Health Child and Adolescent Psychologist in Atlanta, Georgia

POSITION SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, the psychologist would be responsible for the observation, interview, and survey of children 0-8 years of age. Identify psychological, emotional, behavioral, or organizational issues and diagnose disorders. Research and identify behavioral or emotional patterns. Test for patterns that will help them better understand and predict behavior.

This person provides administrative oversight to the behavioral health programs as needed, works in an integrated care setting collaboratively with primary care, therapist and psychiatrist and participates in health fairs or community events on weekends as requested 3-4 times a year.

This is a part-time 20hrs a week position with benefits.

*Provides patient care and/ or support activities appropriate to ages served; primarily children 0-8 years of age.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS : Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology. Board certification or eligibility as defined by the American Board of Psychology. Licensure or license eligible to practice within the state of Georgia as provided by state law is required.

  • EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: At least one year serving disadvantaged or special needs population(s) required. Must have experience working with people with both mental illness and substance abuse/dependence, as well as working in a multi-disciplinary setting.

  • 3-5 years of related experience in psychology

  • Ability to pass a thorough background check

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations

  • Strong working knowledge of diagnostic techniques and a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong familiarity with assessment techniques

  • Demonstrated ability to operate within ethical and professional standards of care

The ability and legal right to drive in Georgia, including an active, current Georgia Drivers License, may be required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must be able to build strong, cohesive, outcomes-focused working relationships with special needs populations and the behavioral health teams serving this population as well. Must be able to initiate and maintain cooperative working relationship with patients and colleagues. Must be able to make decisions both independently and with an interdisciplinary health, educational and social services team. Must possess organizational and leadership skills, ability to work with psychiatric nurse and mid-level providers, and willingness to provide consultation to primary care providers working in integrated care setting. Must be able to maintain appropriate professional and personal boundaries and a positive, healthy role model for patients and colleagues. Racial and cultural sensitivity is essential.
