GCyber Rapid Response Team Lead in Arlington, Virginia

GCyber is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rapid Response Team Lead to steer our network asset and configuration management operations within a rigorous DoD IT environment. The successful candidate will maintain the integrity, security, and efficiency of networking infrastructures, ensuring compliance with DoD engineering standards. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in project management and a proven ability to navigate high-pressure situations.

As a Rapid Response Team Lead, you will:

 

  • Strategically manage and deploy the Rapid Response Team to identify, assess, and mitigate cybersecurity incidents and vulnerabilities with urgency and expertise.

  • Develop and refine incident response protocols and procedures, ensuring they are in alignment with the latest cybersecurity standards and threats, enabling swift and decisive action.

  • Oversee the documentation and baseline configuration of all network assets, including hardware, software, and documentation, ensuring alignment with DoD engineering standards.

  • Lead the development and maintenance of the Configuration Managed Database (CMDB), capturing essential infrastructure data to support a wide array of IT processes and management practices (Asset, Incident, Problem, Change, Release, Capacity, Operations, Project, & Security Management).

  • Conduct regular simulation exercises to prepare the team for a wide range of cybersecurity emergencies, enhancing response times and effectiveness.

  • Lead the analysis of cybersecurity incidents to determine the root cause, scope, and impact, ensuring comprehensive understanding and documentation for continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate closely with cybersecurity intelligence teams to stay ahead of emerging threats and integrate actionable intelligence into response strategies.

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to communicate incident details, actions taken, and post-incident analysis, fostering transparency and collaboration.

  • Drive the continuous training and development of the Rapid Response Team, ensuring they possess the latest skills and knowledge in cybersecurity defense techniques and tools.

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of an incident response management system to efficiently track, manage, and report on cybersecurity incidents.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance.

  • BS in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Management, or a related field.

  • 7+ years of experience as a Lead Project Manager, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.

  • 7+ years of experience working in a DoD IT environment, with a deep understanding of its unique challenges and requirements.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.

  • Demonstrated expertise in self-management and team management, with exceptional leadership and communication skills.

  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure, effectively managing crises and critical incidents.
