You are:

A Technical Business Analyst on a mission to support custom system implementations on policies or enhancements that aim to provide access to affordable consumer healthcare. You are passionate about helping consumers simplify the healthcare application and enrollment process. You enjoy complex problem-solving and thrive in an environment where analytical and methodical thinking is encouraged and welcomed. A self-starter who digs in to make connections and looks at the bigger picture when learning a new system.

The work:

The Systems Business Analyst will embark on a career with AFS working with a multi-faceted analysis and service management team on a custom application and Agile delivery project related to consumer eligibility and enrollment. As you journey through your career at AFS, you will:

  • Become a SME with system functionality and API design, understanding the details of the system and business logic. This entails identifying and assessing cross functional system impacts, creating solution options, and communicating across internal and external stakeholder teams.

  • Triage API errors and change requests (review business logic design, create Splunk queries and analyze results, evaluate example application & policy documents, recreate scenarios, and document findings and recommendations).

  • Provide technical and functional API support for resolution of client requests and inquiries.

  • Troubleshoot custom JSON and XML APIs.

  • Gather/confirm/update business requirements, design documentation, and contractual deliverables.

  • Interact with the client and coordinate with external stakeholders as part of supporting end-to-end system integration.

  • Create detailed JIRA tickets for inquiry resolution, analysis work, and documentation updates.

Here's what you need:

A successful BA on the project will have the following demonstrated prior work experience:

  • 1 year+ professional work experience with the development and maintenance of large custom software projects with expansive, detailed business logic.

  • Must understand client business needs, gathering and documenting system requirements, designs and the understanding of system development lifecycle activities/phases (ideally Agile).

  • Strong attention to detail to include excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office.

  • MUST be local to Washington, DC Metro area or willing to relocate.

Bonus points if you have:

  • College degree, concentration in computer science/information systems, math, science, engineering, economics, or other program of study that requires rigorous, methodical analytical and communication skills.

  • Basic understanding and/or exposure to coding (i.e., HTML, Java, Python, SQL) via professional work experience or collegiate coursework.

  • Background in Healthcare helpful.
