UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT ARLINGTON Assistant Vice President of Accounting Services in Arlington, Texas

Provides highly advanced administrative and managerial functions for Business Affairs, including Accounting Services, Payroll Services, Grant Accounting, Procurement, Disbursements and Financial Reporting. Provides day-to-day direction, guidance, and policy information for financial operations and university decision-makers..Provides oversight and leadership in the activities of the accounting, payroll, financial reporting, disbursement and procurement functions of the university.Responsible for the salaries and budgeting for all departments in these areas.Provides oversight of the maintenance of the Universityand#x2019;s financial records in accordance with acceptable accounting principles, applicable University policies and local, state and federal requirements.Provides oversight of the preparation of various financial reports, including the Annual Financial Report, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.Provides management with timely reviews of the universityand#x2019;s financial status. Oversees external, internal, and other third-party audits.Provides oversight, leadership and guidance for university procurement and contract management and Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) program.Provides leadership in the development and implementation of appropriate internal control systems.Participates in University and campus community relations by representing department at meetings and serving on committees as needed. Fosters positive relationships with academic and administrative units throughout the University community.Performs other duties assigned..Bachelorand#x2019;s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or equivalent relevant experienceMust demonstrate a thorough knowledge of accounting principles, financial operations, compliance and financial systems management.Must have the ability to work at all levels and constituencies, as well as have proven skills in in the resolution of complex issues.Solid leadership skills, including a team-based approach to work.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent computer skills, customer oriented, and demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population required..CPA and/or Masterand#x2019;s degree.Current knowledge of NACUBO, federal, and state rules and legislation concerning higher education, Experience with PeopleSoft finance and human resource systems preferred.
