Overview of Job Function:

As a Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Architect, this role involves identifying relevant data sources to meet various business requirements including KPIs / business metrics, building data strategy and solutions, creating reports/dashboards, and data analytics to provide in-depth insights to the business. This will be done on a regular cadence, spanning daily, weekly, and monthly intervals. The ideal candidate should have a fervent passion for working with extensive datasets and possess business and technical know-how to synthesize data for answering intricate business queries, enhancing our comprehension of the fundamental business drivers, particularly those related to finance, sales, and customer engagement. The candidate needs to contribute to the evolution of reporting models and collaborate intimately with the business to provide solutions aimed at refining the reporting processes including financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, focusing on automating and streamlining the reporting efforts.

Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities:

  • Solution Architect : Design and implement scalable and efficient BI/data solutions that meet business requirements, crafting and delivering essential metrics, reporting platforms, and analytical models for business management, encompassing daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on revenue, inventory, procurement, receivables, and financial planning.

  • Data Governance and Security : Help create a set of policies, procedures, and controls to ensure that the data is secure, confidential, and timely available.

  • Data Integration and Quality: Establish and manage data connections and data transformation rules that align with the business requirements ensuring data integrity and consistency across various sources.

  • BI Reporting: Provide guidance for creating dashboards and reports using Power BI, ensuring they meet user requirements and business goals. Optimize Power BI solutions for performance, scalability, and usability.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders to understand and translate their needs into technical requirements and work with the development team to implement them.

  • Training and Support: Manage the documentation of requirements, design, migration process, BI architecture, and best practices. Provide training and support to business end-users to ensure successful adoption of the reporting model, data strategy, and tools (Power BI).

  • Liaison between Business and IT: As the SME, act as a liaison between IT and the business teams, facilitating the creation of appropriate solutions, enhancing the understanding and improvement of data elements, addressing BI and data issues and guiding future solutions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent work experience.

  • 8+ years of experience as a BI developer/architect, with a specialization in financial data management to deliver impactful BI solutions.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modeling. Experience with Tableau and its migration to Power BI.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex datasets and derive meaningful insights.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong knowledge and experience of working with extensive datasets and applying advanced statistical analysis, modeling techniques, and data mining to drive business analysis.

  • Proven experience to utilize exceptional analytical modeling skills to create impactful BI solutions.

  • Ability to understand the business strategy and provide consultative business analysis, while leveraging your technical expertise.

  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools such as Cubes, Power BI, R, and/or Python for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.

  • Demonstrate a proven ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical teams, influencing the architectural direction with your interpersonal and data presentation skills.

  • Strong understanding of business knowledge including financial reporting and analysis.

  • Strong understanding of managing the end-to-end development cycle of the projects and ensuring successful execution.

  • Ability to thrive in an environment that demands data-driven decision support and business intelligence that is timely, accurate, and actionable.

  • Very limited domestic and international travel annually.

  • Successful completion of a background screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search, OFAC, SS Verification, as well as credit and drug screening, where applicable and in accordance with federal and local regulations.
