Advanced Placement

®

(AP) Readers evaluate and score AP students' free responses, ensuring that high school students receive AP grades that accurately reflect college-level achievement in a specified discipline. Each year in June, high school teachers and college faculty from around the world gather across the United States to participate in locations onsite, as well as to score online from home. During the scoring process, a very small percentage of student responses are flagged for evaluation of a potential crisis situation. We are looking to contract with a certified psychologist and/or a certified art therapist to evaluate the flagged student response and provide a determination if a potential crisis exists.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete training for crisis evaluation and use of the crisis alert response system

  • Review student responses flagged as a potential crisis within 24-48 hours of notice

  • Make a final determination of crisis or non-crisis based on their training and professional expertise

  • Enter the decision in the crisis response alert system

  • Timeframe of reviews: June 1 - 30

  • Estimated # of cases for Advanced Placement Art and Design: 300-350 cases for evaluation

  • Payment: set fee per student response reviewed

Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

  • Certified psychologist - psychologist has a doctoral degree with a specialization in working with adolescents as well as specific training in giving and analyzing projective testing

  • Certified art therapist

  • Experience working with adolescents, and in particular, high school ages 14-19
